The DECA students competed in district at Ridge Point High School on January 20. Nine students from Foster High School has advanced to state.

“To qualify for state I gave a professional sales pitch for a virtual reality product. I didn’t present anything but I did give a sales pitch so it was more of showing your skills. My rank is top 3 for our district,” Semon said.

Students compete as individuals or in teams, as well as take tests in various business-related areas to advance to the next level of competition.

“To qualify for state I had to take a marketing test and score 50 or above,” senior Natalie Bachir said. “I had to go to the competition at Ridge Point with my partner, Nancy, and we had to compete. We presented a role play which we acted as a business with a business scenario and it was based off of buying and merchandise.”
