While most students were either sleeping in during spring break, the boys of JV white and gold were playing tirelessly and well on March 13 and March 16. Here is a quick recap, highlights, and an inside look of each players thoughts during the March 16 game against Terry.

JV WHITE:

Recap: The team destroyed Terry with an impressive score of 18-2.

Highlights: The boys scored 8 in the first, 7 in the second, and 3 in the third. WP (wild pitch) for Luke Capel and has a 2-1 record on the season. Chase Cloud had a triple in the first.  Atley Wright, Bryce Mcdade, and Sam Brown were other offensive leaders. Jacob Burdett closed the game, allowing Terry only 2 runs off of an error. Q & A with JV White player: Brett Bermudes

Q: How did that win feel and why?

A: The win felt very good there was room to improve. But, one thing was the team came together and we had fun and bonded like brothers.

Q: Is there anything you think you can improve for the next game?

A: There is always something you can improve. This game, I might think it would be our base running if we had been more sharper we would’ve had more runs.

Q: How do you prepare for a game?

A: We prepare for a game by doing in and out everyday during seventh period. After that, we hit off tees and hit in the cage. You play like you practice.

Q: What is the hardest part of playing? The easiest?

A: The hardest part was staying focused through the whole game. The easiest was having fun and winning.

JV GOLD:

Recap: The team blew Terry out the water with a score of 15-1

Highlights: Ryan Balusek pitched four innings and had five strikeouts. Audin Sanchez had two hits. Walker Ashley had three RBI’s (runs batted in). DJ Harris earned two walks. Audin Sanchez was 2-3. Ryan Stubblefield was 1-1 with two RBI’s. Eric Estrella had two RBI’s. Audin Sanchez had a double. Ryan Stubblefield had a triple.

Q & A with JV Gold player: Walker Ashley

Q: How did that win feel and why?

A: It just felt good to know that we won because we really work hard on our craft. It’s just good to know that our whole team is working together to work towards a win.

Q: Is there anything you think you can improve for the next game?

A: Maybe work on our offense a little bit. Maybe just hit the ball a little more, but whenever the team the works together we’re a great team.

Q: How do you prepare for a game?

A: I just get my mind right and I like to hit a little bit before just to get my swing down.

Q: What is the hardest part of playing? The easiest?

A: The hardest part about playing…that’s a hard one. Probably just staying mentally focused throughout the whole game because it’s a long game. But, the easiest part is just being a good teammate and just helping those around you.
